"Hand on Harps"' workshops for complete beginners, given by the Cornwall Harp Centre.

 

Ticket price per workshop: adult £5.00, reduced rates for schools and children.

 

A chance for all to have a go at playing the harp, no previous experience necessary and harps will be provided. Sarah Deere-Jones of the Cornwall Harp Centre will teach the basic finger technique, and within half an hour get all present to play a simple ensemble piece together, don't miss this unique opportunity!

 

Based on the rugged north Cornish coast
near Bude, the Cornwall harp centre provides tuition, courses, sheet music and CDs for harpists and harp fans - in the beautiful surroundings at Trehawsa, the home of harpist Sarah Deere-Jones.

 

Sarah Deere-Jones LRAM LGSM is a graduate and prize winner in harp performance from the Royal Academy of music, and has played for major symphony, ballet and opera orchestras throughout the UK and appeared on radio and television. In recent years she has focused on performing, composing and arranging for the Celtic and Medieval harp and now runs the Cornwall Harp Centre, which holds residential harp tutorial weekends throughout the summer months.
